Your questions, answered.

Pricing, capacity, power, insurance, travel and who actually shows up. If yours is not here, ask Chris and Lindsay directly.

Booking and pricing

How does pricing work?

Events start from $1k. Beyond that it depends on the space, the setup, the location and the size of the rig. Tell us the room, the headcount and the hours and we will send a spec and a price.

What does it take to book?

A 50% deposit reserves your date. The remaining 50% is due on or before the day of your event. Read the booking terms.

What if we have to cancel?

Cancel 14 or more days before your event and we refund 75% of what you have paid. Inside 14 days there is no refund. Read the booking terms.

What does a rental include?

Renting this rig means getting the entire crew. Lindsay, Chris and the team who actually do the work show up and handle all of it, from load-in through the last set.

What kinds of events do you do?

Weddings and receptions, music festivals, private parties, conferences and keynotes, corporate retreats, rooftops, boat and yacht charters, warehouse parties, beach gatherings, sound baths and ceremony, yoga and movement, brand activations, galas and fundraisers, album and film releases, art openings, birthdays and anniversaries. See how each one works, or ask us if yours is not on the list.

How do we start?

Email ccalihan@therapysoundny.com or lkc@therapysoundny.com, call or text 631-252-4860, or send the quote form with your date, space and headcount.

The rig

What is in the rig?

Technically there are two systems. The front-of-house system is Void Air Motion tops with four Void 218 subs, at 38,000 watts. The booth system is Void Air Stream tops with two Void Venue 115s, at 10,000 watts. Together they make the full rig: 48,000 watts, all on Void amplification built by Powersoft in Italy. See all eight configurations.

How many people can you cover?

From 50 to 1,000 outdoors depending on configuration. Indoors the same rig is about two-thirds more powerful, because the room lets us compress it.

Do the guest numbers change indoors?

Capacities are the official Void numbers, for outdoor events. Indoors the system is about two-thirds more powerful, since the room lets us compress it.

Can guests still talk on the dancefloor?

Yes, and it is one of the four things we build for: a dancefloor loud enough to lose yourself on and quiet enough to whisper across. Guests can stay in conversation.

Do you supply microphones?

Yes. We bring microphones for toasts, speeches and announcements.

Why Void Acoustics?

Void produces the same sound pressure level with a quarter of the cabinets, runs four to eight drivers per cabinet, and builds cabinets that are meant to be seen. Chris explains it in full here.

Do you supply the DJ booth and lighting?

We work with other local NY vendors as well for complete DJ booth setups plus lighting. Contact us for full quotes that include full DJ setups.

On the day

Who actually shows up?

Chris and Lindsay, plus the crew the job calls for — typically two to four people depending on the configuration. Chris tunes the system himself and one of us stays on it for the whole event.

What about power?

The full rig includes a UPS power station, which is essential for outdoor events running on generators, since generator power is inconsistent. We power our own equipment. If a job needs electrical work, we specify and coordinate with the venue’s electrician, or hire one ourselves.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry full liability insurance and can issue a certificate of insurance naming your venue or production company as additional insured. Send us the venue’s requirements and we will have the COI over to you.

Where do you work?

Based in East Patchogue, Long Island, and available across New York and the East Coast. Licensed and insured, and we can provide a certificate of insurance for your venue.

How far will you travel?

New York is home, and we regularly load out across the East Coast — Philadelphia, Maryland, New England. Anything beyond a comfortable drive we will quote with travel and lodging included, so there are no surprises.

Consulting

Can you consult without renting?

Yes. Chris will come to your location, audit the room and the sound you have, and tell you exactly what to do or what to get.

What does a Room Audit cost?

A fixed $750 on Long Island and in New York City. Farther out, we quote travel on top. If you have no system yet and want one designed, we quote that to the space.

What do I get from a consultation?

A plain-language read on what works, what does not, and what to fix first: placement, coverage, tuning, gain structure and power. If you have no system yet, Chris recommends exactly what to get, with models, quantities, placement, and the electrical work behind them.

Still have a question?

Chris and Lindsay personally read everything that comes in, and one of us writes back.
